Aluminium guarantees of quality.
The quality of used aluminum and the correct execution of the process of manufacturing in its different phases, are those who will determine the quality of the extruded profile, that it is to say, the appropriate physical qualities and their fidelity to designed theoretical shape. Alcati profiles are always manufactured with billets of aluminium alloy 6063 first melting, being guaranteed the suitability of the raw material. All is confirmed with their guarantees.

Alcati has the "Quality management system" certificate UNE-EN-ISO-9001/00 for the manufacturing process of aluminum profiles extrusion, which is an objective guarantee of unquestionable value.

Lacquering guarantee
The “Qualicoat Quality Label” guarantee that the undertaking which holds it meets requirements so their lacquering products have adequate quality.

Qualicoat label obliges us to a daily self-control of the plant sprayer and the results obtained are written down in a records book. In addition a series of random inspections are carried out in time by non-lacquered plant technologists. In case of failure to follow some of the procedures or required quality standards is the opening of a procedure, it may culminate with the decline of the company in the standard obtained.

The lacquer layer is subjected to testing:

  1. Appearance. Any defect of coating cannot be appreciated at a distance of 3 meters from inside the cockpit or 5 meters from the outside.
  2. Brightness. A measuring device is used for verification.
  3. Thickness of lacquer layer. The thickness has to be equal or superior to 60 microns. Five areas are chosen of measurement of about 1 cm2 and are taken from 3-5 individual readings in each area. The average individual readings 3 to 5 is made and none of them can be less than 80 % of 60 microns. Once this requirement is achieved, the average of the 5 areas of measurement readings are added and divides the result by 5. The resulting amount must be at least 60.
  4. Adhesion. Are cuts crossed with a distance between cut and cut of 1 mm. A specific tape adheres over and withdraws abruptly. There must not be painting detachment.
  5. Hardness. The minimum of hardness must be 80.
  6. Drawing test. A test of drawing is used. Apply and remove tape and not must be detached.
  7. Resistance to cracking during folding. Folds a cylinder around a mandrel. Then apply and remove tape and not must be detachment of painting.
  8. Impact testing. An impact on face untreated specimen with spherical surface takes place. Apply and remove tape and not must be detached.
  9. Resistance to atmospheres humid containing sulphur dioxide. The lining is marked cross to the metal with at least 1 mm. length. Corrosion should not etenderse more than 1 mm.
  10. The acetic salt spray resistance. The lining is marked cross to the metal with at least 1 mm. length. Any attack must exceed 4 mm.
  11. Machu Testing. It is mark cross. Corrosion should not extend more than 0.5 mm. the incision.
  12. Accelerated aging test. UV rays are applied for 1,000 hours. The loss of brightness may not exceed 10%.
  13. Natural aging. The sample is exposed in sunny places for a year. The loss of brightness and color are evaluated. In terms of brightness: must be at least 90% after one year, 75% after two and 50% after three. The loss of color should be within the limits set out in tables designed for this purpose.
  14. Polymerization test. The surface is rubbed with a cotton cloth soaked in a given solvent. Then the results are valued.
  15. Mortar resistance. The mortar must be composed of sand, lime and water. The results are evaluated after a 24-hour contact.
  16. Resistance to boiling water. Profile is immersed for two hours in boiling water and the results are analyzed.
  17. Resistance to humidity at constant atmosphere. Marked cross the finish with at least 1 mm. length. After 1,000 hours there should have none visible blisters.
  18. Aserramiento, milling and piercing. Useful sharp suitable for working aluminium are used. There should be no chipping or loosening of the paint layer.
A few specimens approved, carried out in a special alloy of aluminum and 1 mm are used for the mechanical tests thick. Corrosion and chemical tests are performed directly on lacquered aluminium profile. “Qualicoat” label approves the different types and brands of polyester resins to be used, not being able to use the lacquerer no not homologated polyester resin. To obtain this approval products makes a full battery of tests that have to overcome. The “Qualicoat” label represents tranquility for the customer that the lacquering used carry out all guarantees.
